My absolute favourite book is 'So Much' by Trish Cooke. This book holds a special place in my heart because it reminds me of the wonderful years I spent growing up in Trinidad. Whenever I read this book, it brings back memories of my family, especially my grandmother, who used to sing the same songs to every new grandchild as they joined our family. Believe me, there were quite a few of us! Many years later, I carried on this tradition by singing those very same songs to my own children. When I was a teacher in Nursery, I made it a tradition to read 'So Much' to the new children at the beginning of each school year.
Besides hearing about what life was like ‘in the good old days’ and getting to know my own two ‘incredible’ children, I'm certain your child will become quite familiar with my beloved little dog, Ernie, over the course of the school year. Ernie holds a special place in our hearts; he's not merely a pet but an adored member of our family. In fact, your child might even have opportunities to exchange stories or engage in artistic endeavours inspired by Ernie as part of their educational experiences!
I'm really excited to embark on this educational journey with your child and look forward to a fantastic year filled with growth, learning, laughter and lots of exciting stories, including those about Ernie!
